Bowling Club VR Interior ArchViz

Scope

  • Design and visualization of a bowling club interior in 3D
  • Development of a real-time walkthrough using Unreal Engine 5
  • Implementation of interactive VR functionalities
  • Showcase of multiple thematic lanes and lighting variations
  • Optimization for VR headsets (Meta Quest 2)

Goals

  • Create a high-fidelity, immersive VR experience of a bowling club
  • Demonstrate interior design flexibility through lighting and thematic changes
  • Leverage Blueprint scripting to enhance VR interactivity
  • Advance internal skills in UE5 VR pipeline through practical R&D

Approach

  1. Concept Development
Researched bowling club environments and developed multiple visual directions, from neon to industrial.
  2. 3D Modeling & Asset Creation
Built all architectural and decorative elements in 3ds Max, optimizing geometry for real-time performance.
  3. Lighting & Material Setup
Experimented with lighting atmospheres and materials to enhance visual diversity across different lanes.
  4. VR Integration with UE5
Imported assets into Unreal Engine 5, crafted dynamic lighting, and developed interactions with Blueprints.
  5. Testing & Iteration
Tested inside a VR headset to fine-tune scene scale, navigation, and frame rate.

Delivery

  • Packaged Unreal Engine 5 VR scene (.exe + source project)
  • All 3D assets and lighting setups
  • Interactive Blueprint functionalities
  • Cinematic demo video for client presentations

Project Feedback

This project was an opportunity to push the boundaries of my real-time visualization skills. By experimenting with Blueprint scripting and immersive lighting, I not only delivered a functional VR environment but also significantly deepened my understanding of Unreal Engine 5 for interior ArchViz applications.
